Andrea Lawful-Trainer

Andrea Lawful-Trainer

Educational Consultant/School Board Director

"The policy change I am striving for is one that will allow parents more of a role in their child's education and the educators truly will see the important role we play in the success of these children"

Andrea Lawful-Trainer is a mother of two children in the Abington Public Schools and a member of the Abington School Board . As an impassioned parent and child advocate, she became involved in the daily lives of the children that the school district serves by educating herself on how the system worked in a twenty week program called Parents As Leaders then taking that knowledge to parents everywhere. Andrea also felt it was time to create an organization in her own vision and desire to ensure that all children have access to a quality education that makes them competitive nationwide in the most elite of higher learning institutions. Out of this idea A C.A.L.M SOCIETY was born and is now a full functioning and flourishing force to be reckoned with.

She is the past President of Abington School District's Parent Council and served on several boards which includes; Abington Community Taskforce, Citizens And Police together, Abington Human Relations Advisory Council, Local Tax Study Commission, State Parent Advisory Council and a Policy writing committee in Harrisburg. she was recently appointed to the Abington Y.M.C.A. Board. Andrea now conducts Parent Leadership Training in Springfield School District, North Penn School District and Mastery Charter Schools. She also partners with the Delaware Valley Minority Student Achievement Consortium around the area of Parental Engagement.
